Drug Uses
Exelon is an anti-dementia agent, used to manage the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia during mild to moderate stages of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases.
The initial phase of anti-dementia therapy involves one Exelon 1.5mg pill once a day. The recommended dosage is in the middle of the treatment course and it is 3 to 6mg Exelon every 12 hours. The dosage should be increased gradually within several weeks.
Missed dose
If you did not take the scheduled dose of Exelon, take this anti-dementia agent as soon as you remember, but do not take a double dose of Exelon to make it for the missing one. If you missed Exelon for over three consecutive days, resume the treatment with the lowest daily dose.
More Information
Anti-dementia response to Exelon pills may vary from person to person, and is hard to be predicted. Larger anti-dementia effect is observed during the treatment of people with Parkinson's disease, accompanied by simple or complex visual hallucinations.
Storage
Exelon should be stored in an original sealed package at controlled room temperature up to 30°C. Keep any anticholinesterases or psychoanaleptics out of the reach of children. No subject to freezing.
Warnings
The daily dosage of anti-dementia agent Exelon should be increased gradually, especially in patients with a history of intestinal disorders. Severity of gastrointestinal reactions, while taking Exelon, depends on the dosage and interval between increasing in doses.
